PRESENTATIONS

THERAPEUTIC INDICATIONS

  • Caloric glucose intake : 200 kcal/L (G5%) – 400 kcal/L (G10%)
  • Prevention against intra and extra cellular dehydration
  • Rehydration in case water loss is higher than sodium chloride and other osmoles loss
  • Prophylaxis and treatment of ketosis in undernutrition
  • Vehicle for therapeutic supplementation in immediate pre-operative, operative and post-operative periods
  • Emergency treatment of severe hypoglycemia (G30%).

PHARMACEUTICAL FORM

Glucose is available in glass ampoule with an OPC (one point cut) opening system.

PHARMACODYNAMICS

This drug metabolism and pharmacological properties are similar to those seen in glucose.

Glucose 5% : 10ml of solution provides 2 Kcal
Glucose 10% : 10ml of solution provides 4 Kcal
Glucose 30% : Hypertonic solution, 10ml of solution provides 12 Kcal
